WASHINGTON - The National Farmers Union today recognized Senator Kent Conrad with its most prestigious honor - the Golden Triangle award. It was Senator Conrad's 17th Golden Triangle, the most ever awarded by the National Farmers Union.
As Chairman of the Senate Budget Committee and a senior member of the Senate Agriculture and Finance Committees, Senator Conrad was recognized by the Farmers Union for his role in continuing to fight for America's farm and ranch families. The Farmers Union specifically noted Senator Conrad's work on reforming health care.
"I've been proud to stand side by side with the North Dakota Farmers Union on so many important issues over the years. And outside of Mother Nature, no challenge is as difficult for some farm and ranch families as health care," Senator Conrad said.
