BISMARCK -- A report on the impacts of oil and gas activity and the funding solutions for western North Dakota will be released Sept. 18, the North Dakota Association of Oil and Gas Producing Counties announced Monday.
Bismarck-based Jadestone Consulting and Williston-based DAWA Solutions Group, at the request of the association, have compiled data on the energy development, economic activity and the impacts to the region’s communities, according to the release.
Jadestone founder Brent Bogar and DAWA president Jeff Zarling also evaluated community spending and revenue.
The association’s 11-member executive committee approved a new funding formula
recommendation in June that calls for a change in the split in the state’s 5 percent oil gross production tax, the release said. The vote calls for 60 percent of the tax revenue to go to local governments in oil counties. Currently, 25 percent of the gross production tax goes local governments.
