PSC approves natural gas processing plant

BISMARCK - State regulators on Thursday approved a natural gas processing plant in McKenzie County.
The North Dakota Public Service Commission approved the Lonesome Creek natural gas processing plant, the Bismarck Tribune reported.
ONEOK proposes to construct the Lonesome Creek Gas Processing Plant, with the capacity to process up to 200 million cubic feet of natural gas per day.
The plant could be operational by the end of 2015 at a cost of about $280 million. The plant will occupy about half of a 160-acre plot about 13 miles southwest of Watford City.
Once processed, natural gas liquids, containing products such as propane, butane and natural gasoline, will be transferred to on-site storage tanks prior to being sold to a pipeline. Residue gas, primarily methane and ethane, will be transferred to the Northern Border Pipeline.
