Massachusetts-based convenience store company Yesway buys 22 SD stores
PIERRE, S.D. -- A Massachusetts-based convenience store/gas station chain has expanded into South Dakota.
The company, BW Gas and Convenience Retail, doing business as Yesway stores, has bought 22 Fresh Start stores in the state bringing its total to 29 in South Dakota, Wyoming and Nebraska, according to its website.
One of its latest purchases was buying the three former Fresh Start convenience store/gas stations in Pierre. It also purchased a Fresh Start store in Fort Pierre. It’s a small part of a big and fast acquisition move across the middle of America by Yesway.
Matthew Stroot, a Yesway manager, said Pierre is about as far north as Yesway stores go, and that they stretch “from Texas to Belle Fourche (S.D.)”
Yesway stores are clumped mostly in Texas and Iowa, then Missouri and South Dakota and a few in Nebraska and Kansas.
