Dakotas rank among least internet-obsessed states
GRAND FORKS -- North Dakota ranked among states that use the internet least, according to a recent study.
The AT&T study suggested that constant internet access is not as common throughout the “10 least internet-obsessed states” as it is in states with more frequent use. The study said states with less usage tend to be rural and scenic. North Dakota has the seventh least-frequent use, while the study ranks Minnesota eighth for most usage. Idaho, South Dakota and Alaska were least obsessed.
The study looked at the percentage of driving time spent distracted, the number of searches for “phone addiction” and “internet addiction,” growth in online spending, percentage of state population with an Instagram account and proprietary data about how likely a household is to be a heavy internet user.
Oregon, New Jersey and Texas were ranked as the most internet-obsessed states.
