K-9s assist police officers through the thick and thin; in good times and bad. When duty calls, these animals rise up to the task they are assigned, sniffing out for the key notes to solving a crime. Though their work does not go unnoticed, a local Dickinson resident is hoping to raise awareness and show her gratitude toward local K-9s with a unique fundraiser.
Throughout the month of August, Becky Braun is working to support K-9s at the Stark County Sheriff’s Office by selling wholesome and natural ingredient-based dog meals and treats. Braun, who works for PawTree, is coordinating the fundraiser. Any products ordered through PawTree’s website specifically as a donation for the K-9s, commission and cash donations will go toward benefitting the Stark County Sheriff’s K-9 unit.
As a way to give back to her community and local law enforcement, Braun thought this would be a unique opportunity to accomplish that.
“It’s really amazing how much work, training and love goes into these amazing dogs, and I can’t wait to spoil them with some of our products,” Braun remarked.
PawTree, which is a company based out of Texas, is a 100% holistic and natural pet nutrition company. All of the products are made in the United States, and created by licensed veterinarians and pet nutritionists. According to its website, PawTree specializes in finding natural solutions to various pet problems. They have a wide variety of products such as CBD, joint supplements, toys, food, treats and bath products.

With the dedicated amount of time and effort it takes to train K-9s to be effective assets to a law enforcement agency, Braun was inspired to create this fundraiser as a way to show her appreciation for local police services and what their K-9s do for the community.
“My family is really looking forward to giving back to our local law enforcement,” Braun said. “They sacrifice a lot for our safety and peace.”
Braun will also be available at the 2021 Women’s Expo, hosted by The Press, on Aug. 28 at the West River Ice Center. She will have a booth present at the event and she’ll be there to answer any questions or concerns about PawTree products.
“My hope is this will be one more unique way we can give back to our community, “ Braun said. “It's a great way to show our support for our law enforcement.”
