Six years ago, Jordan Feliz was a valet in downtown Nashville. The Clovis, CA native moved to Nashville in 2012 and quickly established a name in the Christian music scene.
The multi-award winning, top charting artist first got his start with his hometown rock band "A Current Affair" in the mid-to-late 2000s while the band was active along the west coast, and ultimately landed a spot on the Fresno stop of the Vans Warped tour.
Since then Feliz, has gone solo and was the GMA Dove Award winner for New Artist of the Year in 2016 with his debut single “The River” spending a whopping 12 weeks at number one — earning Gold certification for the young artist. Each of his five subsequent radio singles have landed in the Top 10 with “Witness” notching a second number one for the singer.
Now, Feliz will be in concert in Dickinson on Tuesday, October 20, at 7 p.m. at the Evangelical Bible Church at 2891 5th Ave. W. to share hope with residents of the Western Edge.
His mission, through music, is simple. Feliz wants people to turn to Jesus, and hopes that his raw style can encourage those who listen to his praise-centered songs.
“If this is just for financial gain or some kind of credit, then it’s all worthless. I just really want people to take away the fact that this is all about Jesus," Feliz said in an interview about his latest project. "Every song on this record is my heart bleeding gratefulness and thankfulness for who he is, and what he’s done in my life and what he can do for other people’s lives.”
When his highly-anticipated sophomore project, “Future,” released in 2018, it debuted at the top of the Billboard Christian Albums chart.
Feliz’s latest single “Glorify” is the first release from his upcoming third project, due in 2021. Already climbing up the charts, its message is simple as it lays out our sole purpose here on earth—the kind of purpose Feliz is now singularly focused on. “I feel like God has really revealed a lot to me in this season, and I think He’s gearing me and my team up for something special. I’m really honored to be a part of the ride right now, and I just want God to be honored through it,” Feliz shares. “I’m going to be the most vulnerable, God-loving, Jesus-focused person I can be. I want to show people who I am.”
