Community members crowded into Trinity Junior High and High School, Friday, for the kickoff day of the school's 56th Annual Mardi Gras celebration. The weekend event includes a concert with Kat Perkins and Dirty Words, a free showing of "The Addams Family," homemade meals, raffles, bingo, auction and game booths.

Raffle prizes are multiple and worth over $32,000 combined, with the grand prize being a 2020 Toyota Camry. Bingo cash prizes range from $100 to $1,000, depending on the day.

Meals are $14 for ages 12 and up; $7 for ages 5 -11 and free for 4 and under. Saturday's meal, served from 3:30 to 8:00 p.m. will include chicken noodle soup and fried chicken. Sunday's meal, served from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m., will include deep-fried turkey.
