As a 2019 graduate from Northern Michigan University, my journalism path began in the Upper Peninsula of Michigan as a freelancer for The Daily Mining Gazette, then slipping into the shoes of editor-in-chief at The North Wind to landing my first reporter gig at The Mining Journal in Marquette, Mich. Growing up on a dairy farm, I knew Dickinson, N.D., was my first destination out West to acquire more of an aptitude for ranch life, crop farming and everything agriculture. I enjoy being able to utilize my feature writing skills while also capturing hard news stories from fires, crime and court cases. When I'm not fulfilling deadlines and attending city commission meetings, I like to sing and play my guitar, take little road trips to Montana and ride horses in South Heart, N.D.
