At the June 17, 2020, County Commission meeting the State’s Attorney provided the preliminary resolution to convert the Elected Auditor/Treasurer Office to a position Appointed by the County Commission. The final resolution will go into effect January 1, 2022. The conversion from elected to appointed will eliminate the submission of petitions to run for the office of Auditor/Treasurer.
It is proposed, by a preliminary resolution of the County Commission, passed on June 17, 2020, the Elected Auditor/Treasurer Office will be re-designated as Appointed. The re-designation will be completed prior to the next election (2022) for this position.
