Official 2022 General Election Canvassing Proceedings November 21, 2022 9:00 am Vice Chairman Marsh calls the 2022 General Election Canvassing meeting to order. Members present: Russ Murphy, Susan Josephson, Kim Kasian ~ County Recorder, Deputy Auditor Lana Jahner, Vice Chairman Marsh. Also present, Amanda Engelstad State’s Attorney, Pam Winhold & Nicole Roberts Stark County Auditor’s office. The meeting was open to the public and access granted through a conference call and YouTube live. Oath of office administered by Amanda Engelstad ~ State’s Attorney Review of Ballots 1 Ballot was received in the mail after 11-7-2022 deadline, but postmarked 11-7-2022 or earlier. MOTION BY: Russ Murphy SECOND BY: Kim Kasian To approve 1 ballot. DISPOSITION: Roll call vote. All vote aye. Motion carried. 1 ballot hand-delivered to the courthouse after the 11-7-2022 deadline. MOTION BY: Kim Kasian SECOND BY: Russ Murphy To reject 1 ballot. DISPOSITION: Roll call vote. All vote aye. Motion carried. 1 ballot that was postmarked after 11-7-22. DISPOSITION: Roll call vote. All vote aye. Motion carried. 6 set-aside ballots that were not verified during the general election without supporting documentations. MOTION BY: Kim Kasian SECOND BY: Susan Josephson To reject 6 ballots. DISPOSITION: Roll call vote. All vote aye. Motion carried. 1 ballot that has a signature that does not match the application. MOTION BY: Susan Josephson SECOND BY: Russ Murphy To reject 1 ballot. DISPOSITION: Roll call vote. All vote aye. Motion carried. 1 ballot that was rejected by the voting machine for having multiple votes in the County Commissioner District 4 race. MOTION BY: Russ Murphy SECOND BY: Susan Josephson To accept and recreate 1 ballot eliminating the County Commissioner District 4 race. DISPOSITION: Roll call vote. All vote aye. Motion carried. 1 ballot that was received November 17, 2022 from the post office damaged without a postmark. MOTION BY: Russ Murphy SECOND BY: Kim Kasian To reject 1 ballot. DISPOSITION: Roll call vote. All vote aye. Motion carried. Deputy Auditor Jahner asked the board to review the accepted 4 ballots for write in votes for the City of Gladstone. Deputy Auditor Jahner provided the zero report for the DS450 for the board to review and sign. Pam Winhold ran the 4 accepted ballots through the DS450. No write in votes for the City of Gladstone. MOTION BY: Russ Murphy SECOND BY: Susan Josephson To confirm that the 4 accepted ballots don’t have any write in votes for the City of Gladstone. DISPOSITION: Roll call vote. All vote aye. Motion carried. Deputy Auditor Jahner provided the unofficial abstract of votes report to review. Certify New England Ambulance votes. MOTION BY: Russ Murphy SECOND BY: Kim Kasian To certify the New England Ambulance votes. DISPOSITION: Roll call vote. All vote aye. Motion carried. Deputy Auditor Jahner asks committee to fill out the payroll paperwork and mileage for any board member that wishes to get paid. BREAK 9:40 am to 10:02 am To Certify Final Abstract.
