Lee discussed the Dickinson Animal Shelter agreement and advised that a budget line will need to be created for those expenses in the next year’s budget. He also reports 2 people will be going to Minnesota for EVOC training and there is a new Courthouse Deputy – Latasha Klatt. AL HEISER – COUNTY ROAD Heiser reports the road crew is busy moving snow and asks for patience with the roads being cleared, as the ditches are full of snow on both sides and the roads are continuing to blow shut after they are cleared. JAMES KADRMAS – INTERSTATE ENGINEERING BRZ-0045(075): 38TH St SW Bridge Replacement The funding for this project has been denied. There may not be another round of funding until 2026 but they will confirm that. JEREMY WOOD – NORTHERN PLAINS ENGINEERING PROJECT REPORT BRZ-0045(072) 127th Ave Bridge Replacement south of Belfield The DOT has approved funding for this project. The bridge is located nine miles south and three miles east of Belfield. Additional archaeological work may be required. The DOT has approved funding for this project. BRP-0045(072) 131st Ave Bridge Replacements near Belfield The DOT has approved HB 1505 funding for this project. One of the bridges is located three miles south and one mile west of Belfield. The other bridge is located one mile north and one mile west of Belfield. The project was bid on January 13th with Edward H Schwartz Construction the low bidder at $823,364.69. Construction is expected to begin in October. CP-45(22)01 32nd St and 107th Ave Grading northeast of Dickinson The general scope of work will consist of widening the roadway and graveling in preparation for paving at a later date. The project has been suspended for the winter. SHAWNA DAVENPORT - DISASTER SHELTER TRAINING Davenports states the American Red Cross is going to be doing disaster shelter training, it deals with how to open/maintain a shelter until the Red Cross arrives. 10 people are interested in attending from the county, but it is on the same day as the April commission meeting, she asks if the commission would reconsider the date for the April commission meeting so these people can attend. NIKITA LORENZEN – LOCAL EMERGENCY PLANNING COMMITTEE Lorenzen presented an updated LEPC membership list. NDDES and SWEMS were removed, and Richardton/Taylor Ambulance and City of Dickinson Public Works were added. Franchuk advises he received the construction contract from Prairie Engineering for the HVAC, and he will be giving it to the State’s Attorney to review before signing. 9:30 AM BID OPENING FOR GRAVEL CRUSHING, EQUIPMENT RENTAL, PAVEMENT, AND FENCING Richard opened the gravel-crushing bid from Fischer Industries – price per cubic yard $3.90. MOTION BY: Commissioner Marsh To accept all bids submitted today and post in minutes and website. DISPOSITION: Motion not seconded; motion failed.
