Regular Meeting, June 10, 2020
The regular meeting of the South Heart School Board was called to order by President Kudrna in Room 402 at 7:00 PM. Olson absent, all other members present. Others present: Supt. Dean, Principal Geis, Principal Jung, and Business Manager, Kristine Mehrer.
Jacobson moved, second by Krance to approve agenda with addition. All in favor; motion carried.
Perhus-Zarak moved, second by Krance to approve minutes of May 13, 2020. All in favor; motion carried.
Jacobson moved, second by Krance to approve June 2020 bills and payroll and May 2020 financial reports. All in favor; motion carried.
Prin. Geis, Prin. Jung, and Supt. Dean recognized the entire staff, all the students and their parents for everyone's success with distance learning. Pres. Kudrna thanked the administration and Kelsey Boedeker for the nice graduation ceremony
Prin Geis reported: report cards and progress reports were mailed to families the last week in May, some teachers are attending summer conferences; finishing classroom supply orders for next year.
Prin Jung reported: student schedules are ready for next year in PowerSchool.
Supt. Dean reported: daycare fence has been moved. Unofficial election results were reviewed on ND Secretary of State website. He reviewed the enrollment and personnel reports.
Perhus-Zarak moved, second by Krance to approve 2020-21 open enrollment requests for students already enrolled, but moving out of district: Lavanda and Wayde Stockton in from Belfield. All in favor; motion carried.
Jacobson moved, second by Krance to approve 2019-20 pupil membership and transportation report. All in favor; motion carried.
Public input opportunity regarding long-term plan. Jacobson moved, second by Krance to approve the 3- and 5- Year Long-term Demographics Plan. All in favor; motion carried.
Krance moved, second by Jacobson to approve quote from Kolling and Kolling Construction ($23,300.00) to install suspended ceiling in hallways by main office and hallway to elementary gymnasium. All in favor; motion carried.
Jacobson moved, second by Perhus-Zarak to approve 1st reading of policy DDBA. All in favor; motion carried.
Perhus-Zarak moved, second by Krance to approve 2nd reading of school board policies: ACAA, ACBB, DDAA, and DDAA-BR. All in favor; motion carried.
Jacobson moved, second by Krance to approve bid from Razor Edge ($21,800.00) for HVAC system cleaning - to be paid with ESSER grant funds. All in favor; motion carried.
School board consensus was to re-open the fitness room for public use.
Supt. Dean reviewed upcoming events.
Perhus-Zarak moved, second by Jacobson to adjourn at 7:46 PM. All in favor; motion carried.
