For those with an eye for beautiful classic cars and the love of a classic cruise, then buckle your seat belts because between Friday, July 19, and Saturday, July 20, the Prairie Cruiser Car Show is low riding into town.

A great excuse to get together with car enthusiasts, attendees can mingle along the rows of street rods, muscle cars and custom roadsters before stopping off and enjoying some classic 50's dinning. This year's family-friendly car show is being advertised as the social event of the summer, and with over 100 vehicles registered the event appears to surpass previous years records.

To register the day of entry, the fee will be $45 dollars.

The first stop on Friday will be at the West River Ice Center for registrations, beginning at noon. A supper will be provided to registered entrants from 5:00 p.m. to 6:30 p.m, followed by entertainment at 7:00 p.m. This year's entertainment is being provided by the Dickinson Lions Club and will feature a performance by Everett Dean at the Bandshell, who will be rocking the crowds to the best of the 50's and 60's in classic rock n' roll style. Following the event, attendees can make their way back to the West River Ice Center at their own leisure to cruise the town in style.

On Saturday, registration will re-open from 8:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m., with a line-up for the Show and Shine shows beginning shortly thereafter. The Show and Shine cars will be on display at the Prairie Outpost Park from 11 a.m. through 2:00 p.m. Participants and the public will draw their first card for the much anticipated Poker Run. A poker run is where participants will pick a card at each stop and by the end of the Garage Tour, will have a full poker hand -- the individual with highest hand will win a cash prize.

"What it entails is that all those that come to the car show[Show and Shine] can show their cars for free to the public," said Don Heidt, Prairie Cruisers committee member and president. "Anybody can bring any type they want from cars and trucks to motorcycles, at no charge to them."

The top ten vehicles that participate in the Show & Shine, will receive custom Prairie Cruisers Jackets.

The Garage Tour and the continuation of the Poker run, for participants only, will be from 2:00 p.m. to 4:30 p.m., followed by supper at the West River Ice Center. An hour-long presentation of Awards and the coveted Chinese Auction Winners will be announced promptly at 6:00 p.m.

The conclusion of the event will begin at 7:00 p.m., where a social for all true speedsters and hot rod enthusiast will usher in the checkered flag.
