Dickinson State hosts Celebration of Scholars
Dickinson State University invites the community to attend the 2018 Celebration of Scholars, an annual conference featuring original research, scholarly work and artistic creations by DSU students. The conference will be held in Klinefelter Hall beginning at 8:30 a.m. Saturday, April 21.
The conference is integral to the university’s mission to “support scholarly and creative activities” and “to promote excellence in teaching and learning.” Activities include oral and poster presentations by students of their original work, such as research findings, scholarly critique, literary papers, musical and dramatic performances, and visual artwork. Following the presentations, a luncheon will be served in the Student Center. Awards in various categories will be presented to students.
“Our annual conference provides a great avenue to support and promote undergraduate displays of research, scholarly activities and creative works,” said Dr. Wendy Wilson, assistant professor of psychology and Celebration of Scholars conference chair. “The conference allows a great opportunity for students to share their work and experience the collegiate feel of an academic conference.”
