GARRISON, N.D. (AP) -- A 15-year-old Garrison girl died when the car she was driving drifted into the wrong line and collided head-on with a loaded fuel truck.
The Highway Patrol did not immediately identify the victim of the crash on state Highway 37 just east of Garrison mid-afternoon Thursday. Authorities say the girl was thrown from her car onto the highway.
The patrol says the engine and cab of the fuel truck started on fire but the flames did not reach the fuel that was being hauled. The driver was taken to a Garrison hospital with unspecified injuries.
