Two sent to hospital after head-on collision
A head-on collision near Dickinson Friday evening sent two men to St. Joseph's Hospital, according to a press release from the North Dakota Highway Patrol.
Twenty-three-year-old Benjerman R. Klimpel of Killdeer was reportedly traveling north on Highway 22 and crossed the centerline about eight miles north of Dickinson. His vehicle struck a vehicle driven by Gene H. Skaare, 65, of Dickinson, who was southbound.
Skaare's vehicle rolled over after entering the east ditch and came to rest on its wheels. Klimpel's vehicle came to rest in the west ditch, according to the report. Both men were wearing seatbelts.
Both men were taken to the hospital and treated.
Charges against Klimpel for driving while intoxicated, driving under suspension and driving without liability insurance are pending.
Both vehicles had about $5,000 in damages.
