A 28-year-old Dickinson man has died from his injuries after being struck by a truck on Highway 22 Thursday at about 6:30 p.m., according to the North Dakota Highway Patrol.
Kyle Lenerville, Richardton, was driving his pickup truck north about four miles south of Dickinson when he met a southbound vehicle. Once that vehicle passed, Lenerville came upon a man walking in the middle of the lane, according to the HP report.
Lenerville tried to stop but hit pedestrian Brendan Smock, who was taken to the hospital and died this morning, according to the Highway Patrol.
Lenerville was not injured and the truck sustained "severe front-end damage."
The incident is under investigation.
This is the second Dickinson-area pedestrian death in less than a week. A 68-year-old Dickinson man passed away Tuesday after being struck by a truck on just south of Interstate 94 near 3rd Avenue Floral on Monday, Dickinson Police Department Capt. Dave Wilkie said.
