MANDAREE -- Two Mandaree residents were killed late Saturday night after a head-on collision about 4 miles north of the town on Highway 22.

Corinna Larocque, 39, and her passenger, Ricky Finley, 41, were traveling south in a 2007 Chevrolet Trailblazer at about 11:40 p.m. when, for unknown reasons, Larocque failed to negotiate a right-hand curve and drove head-on into a 2010 Kenworth flat-bed semi tow truck driven by Mark Estavanik, 45, of Jupiter, Fla. Both vehicles were traveling at highway speeds, according to the North Dakota Highway Patrol.

Estavanik was injured in the crash and was transported to Stanley by ambulance, where he was released. Larocque and Finley died at the scene.

The crash remains under investigation.
