REEDER - Two motorcycle riders from Winnipeg, Manitoba, were injured in an accident Saturday afternoon near Reeder.
Jeffrey Davidson, 50, was driving a 2002 Harley Davidson on Highway 22 approximately 12 miles south of Reeder when the rear tire blew out, according to the North Dakota Highway Patrol. Davidson, who was not wearing a helmet, lost control as the bike went down on its right side and slid across the highway. He and his passenger, Valerie Bychuk, 61, were thrown from the motorcycle.
Bychuk was wearing a helmet, according to the release. Both were transported to West River Hospital in Hettinger. Bychuk was later flown to Bismarck for further medical treatment.
Davidson’s motorcycle and trailer sustained about $6,000 worth in damages.
The two were enroute to Fargo from Sturgis, S.D., according to the release.
