MANDAN -- Two young women were killed in a head-on crash early Saturday morning on the Bismarck Expressway near McKenzie Drive in Mandan.

A 2010 Dodge Ram pickup driven by a 28-year-old Mandan man was traveling east in the westbound lane of the expressway when it struck a 2002 Volkswagen Jetta driven by a 21-year-old woman from Dickinson at about 1:25 a.m., according to the North Dakota Highway Patrol.

Two female passengers in the Jetta, a 22-year-old from Lincoln and a 21-year-old from Mandan, were killed. Neither was wearing a seatbelt.
