Hazy skies in ND caused by Canadian forest fires

Hazy skies Tuesday in western and central North Dakota are the result of smoke being carried from forest fires in northwest Canada, according to the National Weather Service in Bismarck.

The agency expected the smoke to linger through Tuesday night after the sun sets and a temperature inversion forms.

The smoke may lower closer to the ground into the evening and overnight and a smoky smell may be present.
