A traffic stop on the 1000 block of Enterprise Avenue on Monday afternoon led to the arrest of Jimmy Monday, 37, of Dickinson, on Class C felony methamphetamine possession charges, as well as Class A misdemeanors of possession of drug paraphernalia and driving with a suspended or revoked license.

  • The Dickinson Police Department used its K-9 team in an attempt to apprehend a suspect who fled from officers at a high rate of speed in a black 1990s-model Honda car during an attempted traffic stop on Sunday night along the 4100 block of 112th Avenue Southwest. The car was found in south Dickinson and a search started Monday morning but didn’t turn up the suspect, who police believe is a 25-year-old Dickinson man. The incident remains under investigation.
  • Dickinson Police officers helped care for a 3-year-old boy after good samaritans reported that the boy was walking by himself outside of an apartment building on the 600 block of 24th Street West on Monday afternoon. Eventually, the mother who officers described as “frantically searching” for the boy, found him with the officers.
  • A vehicle left the roadway on the 1200 block of Fifth Street Southwest in the Decker Subdivision just south of Dickinson sometime Monday morning or early afternoon and ran over bushes and small pine trees, causing $1,400 worth of damage to shrubbery. There are no suspects.
  • A 18-year-old Dickinson man was cited for retail theft of a knife worth $12.99 at Newby’s Ace Hardware on Monday night.
