A Colorado man pleaded guilty Tuesday to three counts of gross sexual imposition, a Class A felony, in Stark County District Court.

Greyson Ryan, 21, of Fort Collins, appeared Tuesday before Judge William A. Herauf on the charges, which occurred in Hettinger County.

Each of the three counts describes a sexual act performed with a minor who was 14 years old at the time.

In each instance, Ryan had the victim make contact with his genitals or he made contact with the victim's genitals.

A Class A felony carries a maximum sentence of 20 years in jail and/or a $20,000 fine.

A presentence investigation is currently being done, Hettinger County State's Attorney Pat Merriman said.

"A psycho-sexual evaluation report is conducted by mental health professionals to determine whether or not he's got a propensity for this type of thing or whether it was an isolated incident," Merriman said. "We wanted those done before we made any type of argument on probation."

Such investigations are normal in these cases, he said.

"We want to know who we're dealing with before a sentence is imposed, particularly if he's going to be released," he said, "and given his age and lack of criminal history, we want to confirm he is who he says he is, that he has no prior criminal history and that he is not one of these serial guys who's out here stalking these kids."
