ABERDEEN, S.D. — A search continues for a missing plane that departed from Aberdeen Regional Airport Wednesday night, Oct. 9, according to Brown County Emergency Management.

The small, blue and white single-engine Cessna was reported missing Thursday. According to the news release, the pilot was flying to Oakes, N.D.

Scott Meints, director of emergency management, told Forum News Service on Friday that ground searches were conducted until dark on Thursday and resumed Friday morning. Any air searches were grounded by the winter storm in the region, Meints said.

The plane's tail number, N6483B, was confirmed by Aberdeen Transportation Director Rich Krokel and matches the tail number on a photo posted on the Brown County Sheriff's Office Facebook page.

The Cessna is registered to Gerald Seliski of Hecla, according to Federal Aviation Administration records.

The plane left Aberdeen between 10 p.m. and 10:30 p.m. Wednesday, according to the release. The pilot was flying alone.

Anybody with information should contact the Brown County dispatch office at 605-626-7911.
