Man dies in one-vehicle crash in Traill County

MAYVILLE, N.D. — A passenger died in a suspected drunk-driving crash early Friday 5 miles south of Mayville, a release from the North Dakota Highway Patrol said.

Troy Forsgren, 45, of Mayville, was driving a 2018 Chevrolet Silverado north on 150th Avenue Northeast around 12:20 a.m., the release said. The pickup slid into the ditch about a half-mile south of First Avenue northeast, hit a field approach and rolled, according to the release.

The passenger, a 34-year-old man from Portland, died at the scene, the release said.

Forsgren was taken to a hospital for minor injuries and faces charges of driving under the influence, the release said. Neither man was wearing a seatbelt.

The investigation is ongoing.
