North Dakota man dies in rollover crash near Williston

SPRINGBROOK, N.D. — A 38-year-old man is dead and his passenger injured after a rollover crash on County Road 6 about five miles east of Springbrook early Saturday, Feb. 2.

The driver was identified as Philip Burkhalter, of Epping, and the passenger as John Ramsey, 25, of Texas.

Road conditions were dry, but it was windy, according to a release from the North Dakota Highway Patrol.

Around 12:31 a.m., Burkhalter lost control of the vehicle, crossed the center line, ran off the roadway and rolled the 2008 Ford F150. The pickup came to rest in the north ditch off of County Road 6, facing northbound.

The extent of the passenger's injuries are unknown at this time and the crash remains under investigation.

Springbrook is about 14 miles northeast of Williston.
