VEBLEN, S.D. — One person died in a single-vehicle crash early Wednesday, Feb. 12, near Veblen.

The South Dakota Department of Public Safety said a 41-year-old male was driving a 2006 Chevrolet HHR SUV westbound on South Dakota Highway 25 when it left the road and rolled several times. The driver, who was thrown from the vehicle, was not wearing a seat belt.

The crash occurred at about 7:43 a.m. Wednesday morning approximately one-quarter mile east of Veblen near mile marker 228. Veblen is just south of the South Dakota-North Dakota border.

The name of the deceased has not yet been released.
