Alberta J. "Bert" Hankins

Funeral Mass for Alberta J. "Bert" Hankins, 76, of Dickinson, will be at 10 a.m. Monday, Feb. 9, at the Queen of Peace Catholic Church with Father Jeff Zwack celebrating. Burial will be in the Dickinson Mausoleum.

Funeral Mass for Alberta J. "Bert" Hankins, 76, of Dickinson, will be at 10 a.m. Monday, Feb. 9, at the Queen of Peace Catholic Church with Father Jeff Zwack celebrating. Burial will be in the Dickinson Mausoleum.

Visitation will be from 1 p.m. to 9 p.m. Sunday, Feb. 8, at Stevenson Funeral Home, Dickinson with a rosary service at 4 p.m. Visitation will continue on Monday, Feb. 9, one hour prior to the service at the church.

Bert passed away Feb. 4, 2009 at St. Luke's Home in Dickinson.

Alberta J. Keller was born July 7, 1932 in Bismarck, to Albert and Mary (Berger) Keller. She grew up and attended the St. Mary's grade school, St. Mary's High School in Bismarck, and she graduated from Bismarck Junior College in 1951. On May 16, 1953 Bert and William "Bill" Hankins were united in marriage in Bismarck. Bert worked as a legal secretary over the years in Grand Forks, Bismarck and Dickinson. She was a member of Queen of Pace Catholic Church, Catholic Daughters and Trinity Booster Club. Bert enjoyed baking, especially caramel rolls, playing bridge, and watching her children and grand children's sporting events.

Bert is survived by her husband, William "Bill", one daughter; Susan (Doug) Howie, Bismarck; sons; Tom (Kathy) Hankins, Aurora, Colo.; Bob (Mary) Hankins, Billings, Mont., and Mark Hankins, Littleton, Colo.; seven grandchildren; one sister-in-law, Betty Tavis, St. Louis, Mo.

Alberta is preceded in death by her parents, Albert and Mary Keller.
