Dickinson businesses are growing and expanding along with the city, and Anytime Fitness in north Dickinson is one of the latest businesses to not only grow, but get a new location.
The opportunity to move to a bigger location came up, and the owner took it, manager Lindsey Raymond said. She’s been with Anytime since July, and the new gym was planned long before she started.
“We’ve gotten a good response from our members, as far as - obviously this facility’s bigger than our last one, and a little bit fancier, than the last one that we ran,” Raymond said.
The new space is 13,000 square feet, versus approximately 6,000 square feet at the old location, has new equipment and increased group fitness space.
There are two indoor group fitness classrooms, versus one in the old space, and an outdoor roof-top deck for use in good weather.
“We got some new equipment. We’re in the process of getting some new equipment for our free weight area. We’ve got some new cardio pieces,” Raymond said.
With the increase in group fitness space, Anytime will offer more group fitness classes, including trendy classes like barre and classes developed by Les Mills.
“Make sure that what we have is going to fit their fitness needs or what they’re looking for,” Raymond said. “If they’re just into cardio, do we offer enough cardio equipment or stuff that they like to do? If they’re really into lifting, do we offer the free weight equipment that they’re looking for?”
While Anytime Fitness is staffed during regular business hours, it is open to members all the time, 24 hours a day, seven days each week.
“We don’t close down for holidays, we don’t have short hours on the weekends, so it fits people’s work schedule a little bit more,” Raymond said.
A long-term Anytime membership allows patrons to use any Anytime Fitness in the country - there are 1,800 locations - and the Dickinson location has seen many out-of-state members, Raymond said.
Anytime Fitness is located in Plaza 619, a new commercial building with five additional spaces located behind the Prairie Hills Mall and Econo Foods, and across the street from Sears in Dickinson.
“If people just want to come and check it out, they certainly can,” Raymond said. “Come and take a tour of the facility. It’s a new place in Dickinson and we encourage people to come and take a look at what we offer.”
