MEMPHIS, Tenn. (AP) -- Police and federal bomb investigators are on the scene of a possible car explosion in Memphis.

The incident on the eastern side of the city was reported about noon Thursday.

Federal and local fire officials said they were investigating a car fire and looking into reports that one person was injured. They said they did not have additional details.

Memphis police spokeswoman Monique Martin said the bomb squad also was at the scene.

Officials said it was too early to determine if the Memphis explosion was related to one last month in West Memphis, Ark., which is 10 miles from Memphis.
