Baby recovering in Fargo after near drowning in Hawley

HAWLEY, Minn. – A 10-month-old boy from this western Minnesota city is recovering in a Fargo hospital after nearly drowning in a bathtub early Saturday.
Police responded to a call from an apartment building on Seventh Street in Hawley, where a resident reported finding his or her baby submerged in a bathtub. The resident had been running bathwater for the child and briefly left the room to make coffee.
After returning to the bathroom, the resident said, the baby was found face down in the tub.
Police revived the boy and he was breathing when he was taken by air ambulance to Sanford Health.
