The Bakken U higher education initiative will announce its inaugural scholarship awardee at a news conference tomorrow on the Dickinson State University campus.
Bakken U, a product of the North Dakota University System, was announced early in the fall semester as a means of attracting oil workers, either currently employed or displaced, and their spouses to further their education while living in the state.
The receiving student is currently enrolled for the 2016 semester at DSU and will receive a $5,000 award upon the announcement at 1 pm on Jan. 12 in the DSU Student Center Ballroom.
