The U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service and the South Dakota Game, Fish, and
Parks Department are offering a reward for information leading to the
arrest and conviction of those responsible for shooting an immature bald eagle along Highway 127, according to a press release.
The eagle was shot five miles east and three and a half miles north of
Rosholt, S.D. This is about two miles south of the North Dakota and South Dakota state line and two miles west of the Minnesota and South Dakota state line. The eagle was shot before Saturday and was taken to the Bramble Park Zoo in Watertown, South Dakota, where it had to be euthanized.

Bald Eagles are protected by both federal and state law.
