Balliet pleads not guilty to luring a minor with a computer

A Dickinson man has pleaded not guilty to luring a minor with a computer.
Shane Thomas Balliet, 25, waived his right to a preliminary hearing Monday during an appearance at the Stark County Courthouse in Dickinson.
Thomas allegedly used electronic means to discuss sexual acts with a person he believed was a minor, according to court documents. He also allegedly invited that minor to engage in sexual intercourse via computer or electronic means.
The affidavit stated the victim was under 15 years of age.
Thomas faces a Class B felony, which carries a maximum penalty of 10 years imprisonment and a $10,000 fine.
A pre-trial hearing was not set as of Monday.
