DICKINSON - The Dickinson District Office of the North Dakota Highway Patrol reported Wednesday that a Belfield man crashed his gyrocopter this past Friday.
Randolf Kuntz, 49, was traveling from the Dickinson airport to his residence northwest of South Heart. Kuntz flew into rain and reduced visibility as he neared his residence and was unable to negotiate his path of flight.
The gyrocopter crashed into a field at 9:40 p.m. The aircraft was a total loss.
Kuntz walked from the scene to get help. He was taken by the Dickinson Ambulance to St. Joseph's Hospital and Health Center where he was treated for cuts and bruises.
