GLEN ULLIN - A Belfield man has died after rear-ending a semi on Interstate 94.
The unnamed 34-year-old male was traveling east on Thursday afternoon in a 1992 Toyota Camry, according to a North Dakota Highway Patrol release. The driver of the 2002 Freightliner had parked on the shoulder of the interstate to check his load on his flatbed trailer about three miles west of Glen Ullin.
The Toyota veered onto the shoulder and hit the rear end of the flatbed trailer. The Toyota came to rest halfway under the trailer, and the driver was pronounced dead at the scene.
The Belfield man was wearing his seatbelt and totaled his vehicle. The trailer sustained $5,000 in damages. Weather conditions were good, according to the release.
