On Oct. 29, 1930, she married Henry Kudrna at St. Peter and Paul Catholic Church, New Hradec. This union was blessed with four children. The couple made their living farming until 1958, when they moved to Dickinson.
Her Catholic faith was very important to her and the means by which she lived her life. Bessie took great pride in her home and vast flower gardens. She was well known for the flowers she grew. Bessie was also a great baker and everyone knew her for her famous cinnamon twists. When she wasn't busy in the kitchen or garden, she enjoyed listening to music.
Bessie truly loved her children, grand-children and great-grandchildren.
She was very proud of her red 1976 Chevette. This was her very first car since she only got her license when she was 68 years old.
She was a member of the Christian Mothers, Rosary Society, Holy Hour Group and People of Praise Group.
Bessie is survived by her son, Edwin (Blanche) Kudrna, Dickinson; her daughter, Diane (Darrel) Cuskelly, Dickinson; 11 grandchildren; 20 great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren.
