BISMARCK (AP) -- Bismarck police are investigating the shooting of a 15-year-old horse found dead in a pasture.
Police Lt. Randy Ziegler said the owner of the horse last saw it alive Monday night in the pasture he rents on the east edge of Bismarck.
Lance Lee said he went to check on his horse two nights later and found it dead of a gunshot to the neck area. He said he was devastated and could not imagine who would do such a thing.
The Lees have other horses in the pasture but none of the others was hurt.
