Car fire extinguished

Dickinson area firefighters finish putting out a car fire Tuesday at Tiger Discount in Dickinson. An unidentified man living in a car he recently purchased was working on the engine when it caught fire after he tried to start it, Fire Chief Bob Sivak said. The Dickinson Fire Department and Dickinson Police Department responded to the fire at approximately 2:15 p.m. No one was injured, but the car was totaled before firefighters could put out the flames, Sivak said. The DFD contacted the American Red Cross to assist the man.
