DEVILS LAKE (AP) -- The Highway Patrol says a car went into Devils Lake after the driver lost control early in the morning. He was pulled out of the car and pronounced dead.
The name of the 19-year-old St. Michael man has not yet been released.
The patrol said a passenger, 18-year-old Aric Moen of Devils Lake, was able to swim to shore and was not hurt.
Authorities say the car went into the lake off state Highway 20, about 3:45 a.m. It happened about five miles south of the city of Devils Lake.
The patrol says the driver was pronounced dead at Mercy Hospital in Devils Lake.
