FARGO (AP) -- Former conjoined twins Abby and Belle Carlsen are leaving Fargo for Bismarck.
Jesse Carlsen, the twins' father, works for the state Transportation Department. He said his surveyor job in Fargo took him away from his daughters too much so he's transferring to the department's bridge design division in Bismarck. He says his new schedule will give him three-day weekends without overtime.
Amy Carlsen is a licensed practical nurse and is taking online courses to earn a four-year degree and become a registered nurse.
The twins were born Nov. 29, 2005, joined at the lower chest and abdomen and sharing several abdominal organs until they were separated six months later at Mayo Eugenio Litta Children's Hospital in Rochester, Minn.
