The Dickinson Area Chamber of Commerce is sponsoring its second annual Fat Tuesday -- an evening of Creole food, jazz music and games -- on Tuesday, Feb. 24, at the Days Hotel Grand Dakota Lodge and Conference Center.
Fat Tuesday -- taken from the French term "Mardi Gras" -- is a networking opportunity for Chamber members and the community, said event chairman Harmony Kolling.
"We're going to have masks available and encouraging people to dress up and really have fun with it," said Chamber Executive Director Lexi Sebastian.
Highlighting the evening are the table games, sponsored by Chamber businesses. Games include Family Feud, Trivia Pursuit, Name That Tune, charades and darts, she said.
Kolling added, "You earn the beads by playing games at the business-sponsored game tables and the audience participation games throughout the night."

The winners are named the king and queen for the evening. Last years winners were Jessina Aluise and Vince Biesiot, said Sebastian.
Each business having a game table also is sponsoring a door prize, said Kolling.
"People are encouraged to bring business cards for easy entry into the door prizes," she said.
Kolling said game tables are limited to the first 20 Chamber businesses who register.
"It's a benefit that our members have for being a Chamber member. There's no cost for businesses to participate," she said. "We wanted to make it more of a networking opportunity," said Kolling.
Jazz music is provided by K-Hook.
In keeping with the Mardi Gras theme, the menu includes crab cakes, jambalaya, spinach and artichoke dip, and buffalo shrimp.
"You can buy tickets at the Chamber, which is encouraged because there will be limited tickets at the door," said Kolling. "It's great way for people to network with the chamber businesses and community. That's what its really about."

"Beyond that, it's a chance to get out of the house," she added.
