DICKINSON — City Administrator Dustin Dassinger issued a press release Thursday, advising the public on hazardous weather conditions. All Solid Waste Facilities will be closing for the day beginning at noon. City workers will continue servicing garbage and recycling routes until operational issues or the weather makes that too difficult.
City offices, including but not limited to City Hall, the Dickinson Public Library and the Badlands Dinosaur Museum are also closed Thursday due to the Snowstorm.
Public Works crews began anti-icing the roads Wednesday. Plowing of level 1 and all emergency routes began early this morning. He stated they will continue plowing level 1 and level 2 roads. Contact Public Works at 701-456-7979 with any questions or concerns.
The advisory states that travel should be restricted to emergencies only. If you must travel, have a winter survival kit with you. Notify a friend or family member of your travel plans. If you get stranded, stay with your vehicle.
The latest road conditions can be obtained by calling 511 or visiting travel.dot.nd.gov. If you live along an emergency snow route, please move your vehicles from the street as this greatly assists road crews in keeping vital roadways open for emergency vehicle response.
