BISMARCK, N.D. (AP) -- A federal appeals court has rejected the complaint of a North Dakota man sentenced to life in prison on a drug conspiracy charge.
Russell Seidel, of Mandan, was convicted last summer after authorities found methamphetamine during a search of his home and determined he had been dealing drugs. Seidel had two meth-related convictions in 2005.
Seidel claimed in his appeal that authorities did not have probable cause to search his residence based on items that were found in his garbage.
The 8th U.S. Circuit Court of Appeals affirmed the district court judgment that denied Seidel's motion to suppress evidence found in the search.
