10 arrested in Minot prostitution sting
MINOT – Police here arrested 10 men over the weekend for solicitation of prostitution during an undercover sting.
Minot Police Capt. Dan Strandberg said the 8½-hour operation on Friday resulted in the most arrests the department has made during a prostitution sting.
Undercover officers posted two online ads and the men were arrested after arriving at Noble Inn in Minot, which cooperated with the operation.
Officers could have made even more arrests if they’d had more resources to arrest and process the individuals, Strandberg said. Some of the men had local Minot addresses while others were staying in hotels, he said.
Police hope the sting will deter demand for prostitution, Strandberg said.
“It’s market-driven, it’s supply and demand, and if there is not a demand, then hopefully ether won’t be a supply,” Strandberg said.
Those arrested for solicitation of prostitution include:
- Michael Angel Martinez
- Dennis Matthew Nagel
- Hector Hernandez
- Salvador Jimenez
- Francis Scott England
- Tandre Terrell Stuckey
- Jason Golden
- Willie Kilpatrick Jr.
Two were cited for drug charges in addition to solicitation of prostitution. Esgar Garcia, Minot, was cited for possessing drug paraphernalia. Richard Wayne Arnold, Minot, was charged with possession of marijuana with intent to deliver and possession of meth.
