Police Blotter: Preliminary hearing scheduled for man accused of assault

A man accused of the assault earlier this month outside of the Ramada Grand Dakota Lodge that sent the victim to the hospital is scheduled to appear in court for a preliminary hearing on Dec. 8.

Clint Bjerke, 30, of Genovick, Minn., allegedly punched Brad Willer of Dickinson during an altercation outside of the hotel in the early hours of Oct. 3.

Willer fell and struck his head on the concrete and was airlifted to a hospital in Bismarck, where he has been since the incident. Bjerke was arrested for aggravated assault, a Class C felony, and first appeared in court shortly after.

Police say the two men did not know each other.

Man faces charges after breaking into ex’s apartment

Police arrested a Dickinson man early Sunday morning on several charges after he broke into an ex-girlfriend’s apartment near the 700 block of South Main.

Logan Lynch, 24, had arrived at the apartment wanting to talk to the woman and forced his way into her apartment after she refused to let him in. He hung up the phone as she tried to call 911 and proceeded to punch and kick holes in the walls.

Officers arrived and arrested Lynch for burglary, criminal mischief, interference with a 911 call, criminal trespass, all felony charges, and domestic violence, a misdemeanor. Lynch is being held in custody without bond and is scheduled for a preliminary hearing on Dec. 1.

Dickinson man arrested for simple assault

A Dickinson man was arrested after he allegedly physically assaulted a teenage girl Friday at a residence near the 10 block of Second Street West.

Kevin Barrow, 35, was “having some issues with his girlfriend’s daughter misbehaving,” Dickinson Police Detective Terry Oestreich said.

The argument became physical and police arrested Barrow for simple assault, a Class B misdemeanor.

Man allegedly assaults wife during argument over music

Dickinson Police arrested a man Saturday afternoon for allegedly assaulting his wife during an argument over loud music.

Praise Okeadu, 23, was arrested for simple assault at a residence near the 100 block of 17th Avenue West. He was taken into custody but later released.
