Medora man charged with felony aggravated assault
A Medora man was arrested early Friday after he allegedly assaulted a woman with a screwdriver, causing multiple lacerations to the victim, according to a press release from the Dickinson Police Department.
Dickinson police officers responded to an open 911 call originating from a residence on the 800 block of 13th Street East around 2:12 a.m. Friday.
"Sounds from the open line indicated trouble at the location," police said.
Officers arrived at the residence to find a "violent domestic in progress."
"The female resident had been assaulted by her estranged boyfriend using a screwdriver which caused multiple lacerations to the victim," the police release stated.
The suspect, 24-year-old Lorenzo Pemberton, of Medora, was taken into custody and transported to the Southwest Multi County Correctional Center where he was booked on felony charges of aggravated assault, terrorizing and interference with an emergency call.
The victim was transported by the Dickinson Ambulance Service to CHI St. Alexius Health Center in Dickinson where she was admitted. She is expected to recover from her injuries, the release stated.
This case is open and active, no further information was available.
