North-central SD man charged with murder in death of infant
MCLAUGHLIN, S.D. -- A 31-year-old McLaughlin man has denied charges of first degree murder in the death of an infant and a trial date has been set for August.
Kenneth William Chase faces life in prison on the charge of inflicting traumatic head injuries to the child on the Standing Rock Indian Reservation in far north-central South Dakota.
Further details weren’t released in the case.
Chase is also charged with felony child abuse and neglect.
He pleaded not guilty to the charges last week in federal court.
The investigation is being conducted by the Bureau of Indian Affairs and the FBI.
Chase was ordered detained pending trial.
