GRAND FORKS — One man was taken to the hospital Wednesday night, March 11, with a gunshot wound that wasn't life-threatening after a gun was unintentionally discharged in a Grand Forks residence, according to a release from the Grand Forks Police Department.
Police were dispatched to the 1600 block of 12th Avenue South for a report of a gunshot at 7:44 p.m. Initial investigation revealed that a handgun was accidentally discharged while the operator was attempting to disassemble it, and the round struck a male in the residence. The injured man was taken to the hospital by paramedics; no further injuries were reported, according to the release.
